Did you know?
Most people who join ACO are not architects, they are citizens who want to know more about our built heritage and how we can work together to save the best of it. Here’s just some of what ACO London does to celebrate and protect the rich history contained in the buildings of London area:
Holds an annual Geranium Heritage House Tour in an historically significant neighbourhood where visitors can get inside to see many of London's most significant heritage homes.
Presents Annual Awards to individuals and organizations who have made major contributions to preserving London’s built heritage through advocacy or by restoration of buildings.
Encourages young people to study heritage restoration trades and heritage conservation research through the ACO London Heritage Scholarship.
Organizes walking tours, lectures, bus tours and workshops open to members and the public to raise awareness of London’s heritage buildings and the need to preserve them.
Publishes books on heritage buildings and walking tours.
Provides home owners with small grants to help restore heritage properties
Offers a Heritage Sign Program and encourages owners to apply for designation of their properties under the Ontario Heritage Act.
Influences public policy at municipal and provincial levels to preserve heritage architecture.
Partners with other heritage and community groups in programming and advocacy.

The ACO London is raising funds to continue it's important work of preserving heritage architecture through its education and advocacy programming.
